France which is suffering from the second wave of coronavirus cases has imposed fresh restrictions and has declared a state of emergency and has imposed a night-time curfew in the capital and 8 other regions.
The government of France said, “The COVID-19 epidemic constitutes a public health disaster which, by its character and its severity, puts at risk the health of the population. It justifies the declaration of the state of emergency so that measures can be adopted … which are strictly proportionate to the public health risks.”
Speaking about the curfew, the president of France, Emmanuel Macron posted on Twitter, “A curfew will be established from 9 PM to 6 AM in health emergency zones.”
COVID-19 continues to batter France
Effective from Friday midnight, in Paris and 8 other regions it will affect nearly a third of the country’s population who will be facing night curfew and lockdown. The places that will affect lockdown are Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Toulouse, Saint Etienne, Montpellier, Rouen, Lille, and Grenoble.
Under the state of emergency, there will be a ban on organizing private parties like wedding, however, the gathering of 6 people will be allowed and if someone gets caught breaking the rules will be fined $160.
The French Interior Ministry Gérald Darmanin said that nearly 12000 police offers will be deployed to enforce laws.
The rule has been announced due to the rising number of coronavirus cases which has been steadily increased after June this year.
