Free Family Activities for Summer 2019

Childhood should be about having great memories. So, as parents, that is what we try to do. We take them to various sporting events, movies theaters, concerts, and other such events. But those costs do have a way of adding up. Parents will pay an average of over $470 per child over a summer to entertain them at various events.

Over 31% of parents have lied about a child’s age to save money at an amusement park, restaurant, etc. It shouldn’t have to cost a lot of money to entertain a kid. So, I’ve made a list of interesting, fun, and exciting free events for children that should keep them entertained all summer.

Kids Bowl Free

I sincerely cannot believe that I haven’t heard of this program before, but I learned about it while searching online for free summer events for kids. Basically, this is a nationwide initiative where participating bowling facilities allow children with parental supervision to bowl two free games per day all summer long.

It is a free summer initiative organized by participating in bowling facilities, schools, and academic and community organizations. It’s designed to give children a secure place to have fun during the summer. All you have to do is register online to find any participating bowling facilities near you. It’s a $500 value for free per child.

This offer is only available at bowling alleys that participate in the KBF program. Each participating bowling alley determines the age limit for children to participate.

Every Kid in a Park

I really can’t believe I have never heard of this one either. It’s a great free offer concept, but it is only limited to children in the fourth grade with parental supervision. Basically, if your child is in the fourth grade, then you can take them and the family to visit all participating national parks, forests, historical sites, and rivers for free. Free for a whole year.

Just register your child at Every Kid in a Park and print out a pass with a verification code. The free pass is for the fourth-grader, but all other children under the age of 16 and three adults are also covered. If there is any more in the group, they will have to pay for admission. Remember to print out the pass and bring it with you as electronic copies are not acceptable.

Regal Cinemas’ Family Movies

Every summer for 14 weeks, participating Regal Cinemas show $1 family films every Tuesday and Wednesday for the summer. You should double-check to make sure that the Regal Cinema near you is participating in the $1 family film promotion before heading down. You and your family can see family films like Teen Titans Go! To the Movies, How to Train Your Dragon 2, Lego Batman Movie, House with a Clock in its Walls, and much more, for just a buck!

The $1 film schedule will differ for each participating Regal Cinema. Also, since this is a family event where lots of children will be present, you should not expect too much silence during the film, so have your patience handy.

Never Assume

Such free offers and events are subject to change and/or alteration with prior notice, so check online or call ahead before heading out. Also, regularly check online for similar free family summer events in your area.
